What happens during your Hot Stone treatment?
Hot Stone Therapy is a type of massage using specially heated volcanic lava stones, combined with Swedish-style massage movements.. The heat from the warm basalt stones penetrates deeply to help loosen and sooth tightened congested muscles, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth.

Hot stone massage can help you to:
A common response from those who have experienced this specialised treatment is how deeply relaxing it is and how it feels like they've had a really deep and thorough massage.
Our therapists use basalt volcanic rocks that absorb and retain heat well, providing you with deeply relaxed massage, allowing you to let go of all the stress that is held within your body.
When you have a hot stone therapy treatment the eminating heat from the stones is gently, yet continually penetrating into your muscle fibres, helping to relieve tension.
Our hot stone therapist will give you a full consultation to determine how a hot stone massage can help you.
During the first stage of your treatment, our therapist will cleanse and scrub your back to remove any dead skin cells in order to help the heat absorb quicker into your body. Five heated stones will then be placed on parts of your back for 10 - 15 mins. During this time the heat will absorb through your skin to relax the muscles.
Meanwhile your legs will be treated in the same way and followed by a massage of the back, neck and shoulder. If you are having our extended treatment, this will also include the chest, abdomen and feet.
