What we are doing to reduce the risk of COVID-19 to you and us?

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respirators illnesses and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying healthy conditions may develop more serious illness.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well-informed about the virus, the causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands with soap regularly for 30-40 seconds or if unable to wash hands, use an alcohol-based hand gel and rub well into your hand. Try to avoid touching your face as much as possible.
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose or mouth when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you practice respiratory etiquette (for example cough into a flexed elbow, carry a tissue?).
At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19, however there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluation potential treatments.
Don't come to Woodside Clinic if you have covid 19 symptoms

What are we doing to reduce the risk of infection?

We will be staggering patient appointment times in the clinic and there will only be 2 chairs in the waiting room to allow for social distancing.
Our practitioners will be wearing PPE as recommended by Public Health England while treating patients.
We will be allowing time in between each patient to allow us to disinfect the room.
We will be measuring temperature of all our staff before their shifts and also of all patients coming in.
We will remove all magazines, leaflets and the water cooler from our waiting room.
We will not be handing out any appointment cards or exercise sheets – please share your email address and we can email these over to you.
All reception desks have a Perspex screen to safe-guard our staff.

What do we ask our patients to do to help reduce the risk of infection?

We will be calling you the day before your appointment to go over some questions.
We ask that you come on your own and only come with someone if you need a carer/chaperon (please let us know if this is the case prior to your appointment).
We ask our patients to wear a face mask or a covering of some sort.
We ask our patients to not use our toilets.
We ask that you only come in to the clinic 2-3 minutes prior to your appointment.
If there are 2 people already in the waiting room, please wait outside.
We will be taking your temperature before you go for your treatment.
We will be requesting your email address to send you an electronic consent form – please share these details as we are unable to provide paper consent forms when you arrive for your appointment.
If you are feeling unwell or self-isolating, please call us rather than not turning up to your appointment.
If you have been away, please wait for 14 days before coming into the clinic.
Please pay for your appointment using a card – we will not be accepting cash.
If you need a towel or blanket, please bring one as we are unable to provide one at this time.
