Sports Massage in Leighton Buzzard - Dunstable

What is sports and remedial massage?

Sports and remedial massage is a deep tissue massage for the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues (e.g. muscles, ligaments and tendons). It helps to create the conditions for the body’s return to normal health, speeds up the recovery process and encourages complete healing by:
Improving circulation and lymphatic flow
Assisting in the removal of metabolic waste products
Assisting in the removal of damaged cells and adhesions left after injury
Sedating or stimulating nerve endings
Increasing or decreasing muscle tone and length
Helping remodel scar tissue
How could sports and remedial massage help me?
For athletes:
To assist in the mental preparation for matches and events
To assist in the conditioning/training phase
To prepare for and recover from competition
To prevent injury and aid recovery from training sessions
We treat athletes at all levels – from beginners, local league competitors, occasional joggers and professional athletes.
For non-athletes:
You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from sports and remedial massage. We work with a wide range of patients and our osteopaths and physiotherapists regularly refer patients for this type of deep tissue massage in conjunction with their treatment, to help relieve soft tissue tension and aid faster recovery. They can also suggest when intermittent sports and remedial massage might be of benefit to prevent recurring problems.
If you are already receiving treatment from one of our osteopaths or physiotherapists, make sure you mention it when booking, so that your massage therapist can liaise with them to determine the best approach.
"I have used Woodside Clinic on three occasions due to a back injury and have been very impressed with the staff and treatment received. I would highly recommend the clinic’s services to anyone seeking relief from pain!" Mrs Jill
